Accessing the Health Center

To provide more prompt and efficient care to students, we encourage appointments. Our open-access scheduling policy allows most patients to receive same-day care. To speak with a nurse at the Health Center and/or schedule an appointment, please call Dial-A-Nurse at (804) 289-8700. We have a computerized sign-in process at the SHC--bring your user name and password to log-in, and student ID# and PIN to register.

Appointments for doctor-requested follow-ups, annual gynecological examinations and other routine visits can be scheduled by calling (804) 289-8064.

Excuse Notes: We do not provide written notes for students who miss class or work due to illness or injury. It is the student’s responsibility to communicate with faculty and employers regarding class or work absences.

Parking

For students visiting the Health Center, there are three student parking spaces and three posted Student Health Center Patron parking spaces in the front of the Special Programs Building.
