Medical Emergencies
Dial (804) 289-8911 for campus police and provide your name, exact location, and the nature of your emergency. Call even if you are uncertain as to whether it is a true emergency—do not hesitate to get assistance.
Mental Health Emergencies
Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is available during standard office hours. Call (804) 289-8119 for assistance. After hours, a counselor is on-call and may be reached through the University Police dispatcher at (804) 289-8715. For emergencies, contact campus police at (804) 289-8911.
Sexual Misconduct
Any situation in which a person does not provide consent for a sexual act is considered sexual misconduct. If you are a victim of sexual misconduct, seek help, as soon as possible. There are many resources available in our community for victims and others affected by sexual misconduct. Various actions may be considered sexual misconduct, and all are treated seriously. Learn more about how you can get involved in ending sexual misconduct in our community.
Emotional Problems
Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) offers a wide range of services for UR students. Counselors are available to help with relationship difficulties, stress, anxiety, family problems, and much more. Other resources include the National Hopeline Network at (800) SUICIDE (784-2433) or the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at (800) 273-TALK (8255). Ulifeline provides diagnostics and advice for suicide prevention.
