LGBTQ Health Care
Studies have shown lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) individuals may avoid or delay medical care due to fear of discrimination and stigma.
The Student Health Center (SHC) staff is committed to providing appropriate, sensitive care to all patients. We strive to make the SHC as welcoming and inclusive as possible. All SHC staff members have attended UR Safe Zone training. We regularly attend medical education programs and training sessions specifically addressing LGBTQ health issues.
To speak with a nurse or schedule an appointment at the SHC, call our Dial-A-Nurse (804-289-8700).
